CAPRI - ANACAPRI
An unforgivable day dedicated entirely to the
visit of Capri, an island rich with natural beauties, panoramic
and historic ones and why not? Social activities that have involved
the whole world. One departs from the port of Sorrento with the
hydrofoil, enjoying a fascinating crossing along the whole Sorrento coast.
Arriving in Capri (Marina Grande) You reach Anacapri with
small busses to visit Villa San Michele (Villa Saint Michael)
of Dr. Axel Munte, the famous Swedish writer who’s best seller
was the book "The History of San Michele" which tells about his
time spent in Capri describing it’s marvellous beauties.
Free time in Anacapri to have lunch and then to the centre of Capri
tot o visit the "Augusto Gardens" from which You can admire the famous
"Faraglioni" (crags) and the Small Marina, last residence of Grace Field.
Free time will be given for shopping and to reach the famous "Piazzetta"
(small square): symbol of the elegant and prestigious Capri.
Return to the port and to Sorrento.
ISCHIA
It is known as the green island for its vegetation.
It is a volcanic island dominated by mount Epomeo. Our tour begins in
the Sorrento port with the crossing of the Gulf of Naples which lasts
approximately 50 minutes. Free time during the morning will be given
to enjoy a walk in the centre of the Port of Ischia. Later there will
be a tour of the Island on the Grand Tourism bus and guide.
In the afternoon free time will be given to visit the thermal centre
(the entrance is not included) with the possibility to use the services
of the centre. We suggest not to forget Your bathing suit.
POMPEI -
VESUVIO
Today Pompei attracts in an intensive way those
visitors willing to rediscover what is left of the ancient splendours
of the Roman Empire. In the 80 B.C. years Pompei was partially destroyed
and covered by the eruption of the Mount Vesuvius Volcano in 79 B.C.
and forgotten over the years. The diggings began in the XVIII century
and brought gradually to the discovery of the fabulous villas with
frescos preserved throughout time, an amphitheatre and more to show
the prosperity of this city in the past. The diggings haven’t ended
and to this day they continue with the aim to give back to the modern
society the treasures of the past. After the visit there will be free
time for lunch and You will proceed with the discovery or the Crater
of Mount Vesuvius, origin of such destruction. Mount Vesuvius dominates
masterfully the whole Gulf of Naples and is reached, up to quota
1.000 by bus. After that, You may continue on foot up to the crater
for the visit with the alpine authorized guides. Return to Sorrento.
POSITANO
- AMALFI - RAVELLO
Much is said of the Amalfi drive as being
one of the most spectacular routes in Europe and it must be true
if one thinks of the scenarios of incomparable beauty along the
road up to Amalfi, and one of the most ancient marine republics
and also homeland of Flavio Gioia inventor of the compass.
In the centre of Amalfi, preceded by a wide staircase, rises the Dome,
consecrated to S. Andrew (IX century) with a designed facing decorated
in the drum by a 800’s mosaic. Free time for lunch. We suggest
a visit to the Arsenals where the grand galleys of the fleet used
to be built. A visit to the Smeraldo Cave, which departs from the
Amalfi port, must not be missed. The continuation is for Ravello
where the natural beauties of the sceneries harmonize with the
spell of the precious monuments. Next the visit to the Dome
dedicated to Saint Pantaleone and Villa Rufolo, which inspired
Wagner and his Parsifal and where every year, in his honour, a
series of musical concerts are organized. Return to Sorrento.
